Do you keep an open heart? That is the advice that Jen Amos today’s guest talks about in this episode. As fathers, we have many roles, and in Jen’s case the way her father showed up in her life, he left clues for her to find herself in the future and grow into the strong young woman she is.

Jen lost her dad while he was serving in the Navy when she was a young girl, her story will mountain for someone who is at a similar crossroads or had to deal with loss in a similar way.

She is our first gold star daughter and I honored to share her story with you.

Today I share a story and a lesson I learned from consistently falling out of formation during morning PT (Physical Training) runs.

For almost all of my Marine Corps service, I never felt good enough as a runner and always felt it was easier to fall out of the run than dig deeper and hang in.

Today I unpack why I think that is looking back after 13 years since I left the Marines.
